I designed a logo for a family-owned digital agency (well, an agency of two, which shouldn’t tell you anything about the quality of work, because it’s excellent, and why did you even bring that up?).
The Gray Dot Company is the fusion of two individuals. Combining efforts from two independent self-employed initiatives required a new direction in branding. Originating in Colorado, they wanted to invoke the mountainous region of their prior home while also feeling relevant to the adorable little mountains in their new in Asheville, North Carolina.
This logo combines that feeling with a couple direct calls to the company name: “Gray” (the color gray) and “Dot” (the sun/moon is a dot). Also, guess what the URL is? Yep, “gray.company” – I wish I’d thought of that! The word mark plays with the idea that you can simply show the “dot” instead of the word, “dot”, and can be used in places where the full round logo aren’t appropriate. Feast your eyes!
